I’m rather tired of seeing the same interpretation of the 2nd house as being money, money, money. I have a rather full (yet rather small) 2nd house – Mercury, Mars, Lilith & Part of Fortune.
I spent many years as an adolescent in poverty. Despite this, money is a terrible motivator for me. Would I love to have financial security? Absolutely. Almost desperately. I’ve also worked incredibly hard in various jobs for little compensation.
I have zero business acumen. I am not competitive for career opportunities – there’s not enough room at the top for everyone. Bluntly, I’m not ruthless enough to put my needs above others’. No matter how much I might want or have earned financial security.
I would love to see more interpretations on the 2nd that focus on values. Loyalty. Integrity. I don’t mean to be rude, but assigning placements in the 2nd house as being money-centric is the most basic interpretation an astrologer can give.
Sorry for my aggression. Obviously my mercury/mars in the 2nd makes me angry when discussing money 😉
Hey, I also am not relating with money hungre yet I have Mars in scorpio (and Pluto & Lilith in libra (I use placidus)) in the second. Instead I have had my pretty greedy moments with picking up food from nature… As younger I thought they all are mine (and I tried to hide the mushroom spots in forest 😂 I live in a country with plenty of forests and free picking up possibilities). Nowaydays I have feeling Im always provided with basics fluently and I focus on being me. I have strong virgo energy and its mainly placed in the 12th, and I take myself as spiritual energy worker (my profession is in the field of arts) more than doing something mundane in society. And Pluto in libra is to create/find out the right values, and mars in scorpio to carry them out. And the right values for me arent money/material based. At the moment I feel its more important to focus on healing nature and it is vital for humanity to be ready to consume less and wiser. And that I do happily in my own life. I feel full inside, and its not because I have richness in material sense (in global scale I have more than many obviously, since I live in a rich country, but here Im poor if material wealth is considered). But I do have quite enough. Its balanced, and I do hope all find this state of being. Everyone has their own recipe for balance. The birth chart can definetly be used to understand things. Thank you for information to Stargazer and all the best to all.
Very interesting that both people who say they don’t identify with that greedy Mars in 2nd say they have Lilith (so Black Moon Lilith?) in 2nd. I keep reading a lot of stuff about intimacy for my Mars in 8th, don’t identify with it either … and surprise, BML is with Mars in that house. Maybe we all should try finding out more about BML. 😉
Great observation! I would say yes!
Crazy but I have mars and part of fortune in my 2nd house and it was pretty spot on. Wealth drives me. As a software engineer and someone who is creating multiple streams of income, def spot on. Funny though my Lilith is in my first house and its spot on about body image issues something i’ve dealt with my entire life.
I have mars in 2nd house in virgo, mars rules my 10th and 5th house, and i am greedy, mone motivates me and i work at job where you have fixed pay PLUS bonses, bonuses make me WORK lol i am not competitive in a way ill make others fail, but rather it motivates me to push it
I have Mars in Sagg in second house and I’ve always been someone who loves money. I love to make them and I want to spend them a lot! Also I’ve been always working for myself, and I still do.I used to work with military, with metal, I trained martial arts. So this is spot on!!! I have two businesses now and I’m thinking to open third one. 😊 So this text is really accurate. Thanks! 😊
